Why Nuclear?
Reliable Baseload
Solar and wind are clean but intermittent — they're a good supplement to fossil fuels but not a replacement. Nuclear is the only proven technology that can deliver carbon-free, always-on power at scale.
Safety
Nuclear is already the safest way to generate reliable power. Forge's passively safe reactors will take safety even further, making accidents almost physically impossible.
Minimal Waste
Nuclear fuel is a million times as energy dense as oil. The waste is easy and safe to store. Fossil fuel waste spews into the air causing respiratory diseases and climate change. Solar panels produce ~300× as much waste as nuclear for the same energy — toxic, with no good disposal plan.

Why Water-Cooled?
Proven Technology.
Almost all nuclear power worldwide is water-cooled. America's water-cooled fleet is the largest of any country. 60 years and 20,000 reactor-years of operating experience means solved problems stay solved.
Fuel Availability.
Qualified fuel assemblies compatible with our reactors are widely available off-the-shelf from a handful of suppliers. One of the biggest challenges for competitor startups is the availability of fuel.


Simple Components.
Old nuclear was expensive because of bespoke supply chains. The solution is to bring fabrication into factories and leverage advancements in manufacturing. This is easiest to do for systems which handle water because the components, and tools to customize them, have mature, competitive supply chains.
